i've been busy knitting for the last year. i've finished many projects. learned new techniques and found i really am happier with needles and yarn in hand.
i'm currently working on a Haruni shawl, its my aim to finish this one as my final project of the year.
next year i will go slower and work on bigger things like the afghan my husband says i should finish.
yea ok. i also want to make more wearable pieces not just hats , scarves and gloves. theres a few cardigans i want to make and i will damn it in due time. for now i'll end my post here and finish the row i had in hand before i needed to write this out. when i have a moment i will list all i finished this year.

my last post was Sept 15, 2009. i haven't blogged since for depressing reasons. My favorite knitter and inspiration passed away the morning after my last posting. it had been unexpected.
In response to it i shut down and could not bring myself to talk to anymore for a month except my husband and kids. i finished 1 knitted garment then and stuck it away, started a sock and never touched it after reality hit and i no long had a mom i could call and cry about knitting issues to. i lost everything then. i frogged the sock 6 months later since i felt it was attached to my sadness.
Since then i have finished a pair of socks and returned to the visible world of knitting with friends. I feared i would get the pity looks from the same people who knew my mom but they let me talk about her and we had laughs its just me who still cries when i think of her and miss her dearly.
Sept 16, 2010 marks the first anniversary of her passing

I've been plugging away at my garment.. Mariposa a tank top and as of last night I'm down to a bare few inches left to be completed.
the most pain in the ass part is doing bust darts when you haven't done them before. perhaps not the best thing for a beginner but its done and over with fugly or not i fucking finished.
once i get the top ends done i will take new pics and do the weaving in of the ends and be done damn it.

so dear turquoise microspun how you tormented me for the past 3 years go screw yourself i won dammit.

and i'll be using you again soon enough

Popping the garment cherry

i'm making my first real wearable. right now its probably 20% done, i have 5 inches of the front made, 5 inches on a back panel and the straps are already completed.
its taken me 3 years to make something for me that i can wear not just use...i made the 8ft scarf, winter set to go with it and all of the pieces were lost/destroyed, a knit shawl that i dont have a lot of use for. then i did a 10 square swap(the 11th person bailed so she gets nothing from me) eventually i will add on square of my own or just really big effin strips of stuff that i can seam togehter.
so now i've managed to learn to do left leaning decreases(obviously i know what and how to do right leaning lol) i know i hate seed stitch with a blood fucking passion first run of it on the tanktop i'm doing and it almost was ribbing cause i cant keep remembering k,p,k,p and p,k,p,k fubared it a few times. and definetly dont attempt that in the dark again or after a beer lol.
in a week i'll be knitting with my mom again for a 9 day vacation i'm so ready for it

ok my blog here has been lacking i wasnt focused enough to concentrate on knitting anything for friends or myself. i bo'd my last swap related project which still hasnt made it to the post office yet.
since then i have made 2 barbie dresses, cast on for a pair of yoga socks and started the straps for a shirt by the name of mariposa
as of currently my sock is 1/2 done and with another one to go and i'm only a few inches into the strap but its better than going oh i want to make this and i have the yarn but i've got to finish something else first
now i suffer from omgiwannamakethat- itis its prolly an incurable disease but treated by being broke and not able to afford the yarns lol.

knitting, yarn and a sore back what a bitch
im on a knitting spree its been going on for a week between frogging the same piece over and over until i found a happy little cheating medium and finally completing it today(its to be mailed to one of my KG friends in a swap) and i have started onto the next piece and combined or something with the past week of fevered knitting and last nights wild fun my back hurts like an SOB but i seem to be seeing a problem

the yarn i'm using for this newer project it appears i do not have enough to make a 12x12" square by friday(i wanted it done and packed as well by then but i cannot for the life of me remember if its lion brand, caron or bernat must find label to match and purchase more if needed if i can get it in same shade or perhaps a purple. must buy more vodka once this week is over learning lace stitches are making me drink nightly.

must finish this last line and drag my sleepy sore self off to bed to pick up at line 21 in the morning.
so tired i said 30 on my myspace blog

taking a quick break before resuming my project square 1 in an 11 square swap. i'm 2 weeks behind and square 2 is waiting for my attention before i think of #3.
square one has been the biggest pain in my ass i just couldnt think of a patten and it pissed me off to no end so i started square 2 cause i had the perfect yarn and pattern in mind and remembered to print it off so i could mark where the hell i was stopping once i progressed enough to be happy it was back to 1 and now one is 12x5 it needs to be 12x12 in some form and i need about another 5 sections to be happy with it for me to get it out by next friday at the latest. hopefully square 2 goes out with it.

other than that i'm swamped for the next 6 months in 1 swap. 1 square every 2 weeks. the kids gotta leave mommy alone to knit damn it.

i casted on for what my be a thong. i did 2 pair of pasties for a swap recently and feel like making more.

its sort of liberating and a sexy and cheap way to destash. just dont ask me what i'm making if you see me in public all i'm gonna say is flowers.

ma i know if you read this you're either going to call me, start wondering if i lost my sanity yet or just shake your head. i'm considering this practice lol

i'm back at it again with the turquoise yarn from last year. i kept frogging it every time i got into it and then shelved it now its that time of year

i have anotehr project i need to continue on but i cant focus on a scarf and hat when its getting freakin hot already. jeeze its only april and its hot right now

i've been working on things other than knitting lately, a dear friend of mine asked me to make her some stitchmarkers. so thanks to her i'm her stitchmark maker on call. i've only had one other customer so having her come back for more makes me happy cause it means someone likes what i can do.
as of yet i dont have a website for this hobby or a name for it, i'm open to ideas tho. i will be working on that soon.

as for me knitting i still am currently working on a 2x2 ribbed scarf that will be part of a set for another friend of mine. she yet doesnt know what its being made out of but that its being made.

this is my current project list, i've completed 1 scrunchie, one left to band and seam and 3 to finish knitting on.
hubby's hat hasnt been touched in a few weeks i do really need to work on it since he wanted it longer than standard
then i decided to start a new shawl and get drunk at the same time so this new shawl has earned the name 70 proof cause i've had 4 drinks w/ 70 proof smirnoff vodka flowin thru me.

ok i havent written about the latest projects, i frogged the same wristie i was doing for a month that i kept putting away. i shelved it for now as it jsut wasnt going to work on the loom.
so i'm onto 2 projects, a pair of long fingerless gloves and a knit hat. hats for hubby gloves are mine lol.
the gloves are a design i created off a stitch pattern. its kind of a checkerboardish knit purl block that for now looks like a line of stockinette & purl. i might checkboard it but i kind of like the way it looks for now.
that hats been the easy part its only been frogged once just to add 2 stitches so i could do the 2x2 rib. i'm modifying as i go i just hope i can get it done before winters oover after all i have 2 kids lol

and ummmm why the hell do i want to even look at a sock patterns? i'm not a sock knitter yet(sorry ma)but i keep thinking some yarn i have might make a sock and i do have dps.......damn it why is this starting NOW?! i dont do socks i just stated making a hat off the loom and now my crazy ass wants to make a sock....do i dare.

i need something to get that stinkin thought out of my head for now i got enough projects.

i havent been working on this one cause well i'm scatterbrained. i start and stop enough projects and am never satisfied when i start things as usual. so i may start this one over on another larger pair of needles and maybe this time i'll get past my block.
i keep wanting to perfect my patterns and havent been doing that either.
having started the shawl as stress relief, i had to put it aside as other things were more important.
ok theres a little blonde distraction needing my attention again.

fingerless gloves

i'm making another pair this time its to go from tip of my fingers to near my elbow if i planned it right. i started today with the cast on and first row.
i had started it yesterday in the hospital but today frogged the few cast on stitches i had and started over.
if all goes well these should be done before the winter lol

i was working on a turquoise colored shawl for 2 months and 2 days ago i frogged the whole thing.
i couldnt resist making a new pattern, i'm happier with it now its going quite well and quite fast.
now instead of it being wide and heavy on the needle its now smaller and lighter along with easier to work on.
once i'm more into the pattern i'll take some pics

i am a knitter and my life is well not like it used to be.
i'm just now getting back to seriously knitting and trying to create my own designs despite my MIL thinking that you cant knit and watch 2 small children at once. its knitting thats gonna keep this mom sane til they move out!
